For tally related charges, from the "Inbound Processing" menu take the option to "Work With Tallys". Locate the tally where you want to apply special charges and place the "Change" option next to it. The "Inbound Header Maintenance" panel will be displayed. Press the <F15> key to advance to the "Work With Special Charges" panel. The following depicts the "Work With Special Charges" panel.

At the top of the panel you will see the tally number and a type of "I" for inbound or the order number and a type of "O" for outbound.  These are displayed to confirm that you are viewing information about the correct tally/order.

In the body of the panel in addition to the type and tally/order number, you will see the task ID, quantity, rate, base, markup, whether the minimum was applied, and the amount of each special charge.   If you press the <F11> key, you can also view the description associated with the charge and the user that last maintained it.  If auto-charges were set up on the account, these will be present even on the first entry to this panel.

To change an existing charge, place the "Change" option next to it and press <Enter>.  To add a new charge, press the <F6> key.  In either case, the following panel will be displayed.

The charge type and the tally/order number will default onto the maintenance screen.  At the top of the panel enter the the task code.  Task codes are used to store charges and rates and associate them with revenue cost centers.   For a list of valid task codes press the <F4> key.  If you press <Enter> the default values from the task code will be displayed.

The apply minimum flag is used to indicate if you want minimums applied to this charge.  It defaults to Y, but can be changed to N if needed.  If the minimum charge is being applied, an asterisk will be displayed beside the amount.  The description will default from the task code, but can be overridden with any text that you wish.  Comments can also be added and will be discussed further down in this document.

On the lower part of the screen you can enter the quantity for the charge.  Unless the basis is "HR" - hours, the quantity will be assumed to be a whole number.  In the overrides line near the bottom of the panel you can override the task markup percentage and the rate.  If you override either of these, a conformation message will be displayed.

Certain Bases result in a quantity that may fluctuate during processing.  These Bases are LL (Per Line), QY (Quantity), CW (100 Weight), or PL (Pallet).  On these Bases, the quantity will not be maintainable, so a message will appear, explaining that the quantity and the total amount of the charge will be determined at the time of posting.

Sometimes a comment is needed on a warehouse receipt to explain the causes of a special charge.  The "Comment" option from the "Work With Special Charges" panel allows you to key in a comment that will appear beside the charge on a receiver.  To create a comment for a special charge, place the "Comment" option beside the record and press <Enter>.  The following panel will appear.
